The Barcelona Paddle Race is preparing for its 10th anniversary edition! 14 km downwind race in Barcelona for all surfski and outrigger canoe categories. Exact date to be determined later.

THE ROUTE

14 KM Downwind

The standard route will start from the sandy beach of Somorrostro in the heart of Barcelona, protected by the walls of Port Olimpic from the north.

Participants will first head south towards Port Vell, then turn inwards to sea and circle around the 1st buoy situated 4 km off the coast. After the buoy, it's northward till the finish line at the Port of Badalona. With the prevailing southeasterly wind, the entire northbound section should be one long stretch of downwind.

The last leg of the race is a 4 km sprint from the buoy of Port Forum till the finish line at Playa de la Marina, a small sandy bay just in front of the wall of the Port of Badalona.

The race starts from Playa Somorrostro, a protected sandy beach right next to Port Olimpic.
Participants will first head south towards the southern tip of Port Vell's seawall, then inwards to the yellow buoy situated 4 km in from the coast. Once gone around the buoy, the northward downwind section begins all the way till the Port of Badalona. The triple chimneys of St Adria will be your guide point.

The finish line is on the beach at the entrance of Port of Badalona, at Playa de la Marina. Once you reached shore, you must sprint to the judges to report & get your race time clocked.

The medal ceremony will be held at the beach, along with a buffet at the spot's chiringuito bar, Port Bahia Club de Mar.
